Best medicine not hearing voices

Or best combination of medication.

I take haldol and at first it took away my voices altogether. But after a few years the voices came back.

I think clozapine is supposed to be the strongest

For me Clozapine has been the best so far… I’m trying some new meds because I do not lik eth eside effects of clozapine.

The best regimen for voices, visual hallucinations, olfactory hallucinations, paranoid delusions and mind reading is a combination regimen of:

Risperdal Consta depot injections
Geodon by mouth
Seroquel by mouth

Works great for me. And no side effects either.
My nurse uses a combo lidocaine/prilocaine cream to anaesthetize the skin before Risperdal injection.
Just make sure you wash off the cream after the injection. Very important. You can use wet Baby Wipes.

Yes this, clozapine apparently works for 90% or more of all people with sz. (Unfortunately apparently it is also the med with the most side effects which is why doctors usually prescribe it as a last resort) If clozapine doesn’t work for you that’s when they start just putting you on multiple different meds hoping maybe stuff combined will work, gets a little sketchy.

I am told Risperdal works very well. And it works for me.

Yeah risperdal worked really well for me too. I had to go off it due to dangerous side effects but it was honestly the most effective AP I’ve ever been on.

This is not an easy question to answer. What is the best medication for one person may not be the best for somebody else.

They say clozapine but I’m on Abilify and it works very well.
