Could it be you thought you were guessing but subconsciously you knew.
Some of my brain training apps have similar games, so maybe that’s why the kid and I did well. She plays them a lot, too.

I did the remembering that face test here http://www.testmybrain.org/ which redid the face test and also did a car test.
In both cases I scored higher than zero out of ten people who did the tests. I am not into cars so was not surprised at the car result.
