Calling all philosophers: what is love?

Well I am not that much into judgement day really…

I think the judgement is from one’s self mostly when one dies imo

I am almost completing my PhD degree of schizophrenia. I am thankful to my hindu religion for helping me in recovery.

Real love has to have complete reciprocity in my opinion. It also has to do with always being in their corner, regardless.

Love is giving your best to make someone feel good and wanted.

Love is taking care of someone that is disabled or sick.

Love is grabbing a snack for them just in case they want or need one.

Love is taking care of their injuries, even of it makes you queasy.

Love is cleaning up their poo or vomit.

Love is making them comfort food.

Love is sharing a meme to make them laugh.

Love is thinking of them before sleep or when you wake up.

Love is kissing them even of they have morning breath.

Love is washing their underwear. Skid marks and all.

Love is buying them flowers if they’re a dude.

Love is walking in freezing cold and snow to buy them medicine.

Love is holding their hand during injections.

Love is having a special song.

Love is slow dancing together with no music but the tune in your heart.

Wise words  thanks

To me love is giving everything you are and have for someone else’s good… in complete disregard for what you get in return.

I don’t know what it was and I have no explanation for how it happened but I experienced that love energy while sitting in my car talking with this girl. I only felt it the one time and have never felt it again. but it was freaking awesome.

I’ve felt other energies too when I was psychotic. Happiness, orgasmic, anger, and sadness. Very unique experiences.

These are energies, not feelings/emotions.

I had these very intense energies pass through me after a car accident as well. It was the most amazing, spiritually satisfying experience I’ve ever had in my life

Is love really just brain chemicals like science say?

Science does not say that. Science says there are brain chemicals associated with love yes but to assume that’s the end of it is unscientific.

These chemicals etc are in the body yes and there is also a spirit aspect …it’s the physical manifestation of a spitual thing…we act in love then we feel the love chemicals in our bodies. If that were true then people without these chemicals would not be able to love and that’s not the fact. Maybe some cannot feel love but they can take the action of love which is giving the self for others… so no love is not just a chemical it’s an action which when it occurs has a chemical response in the body. … as far as I understand
