My surrounding neighborhood is notorious for animal cruelty. Ever since I moved in here a year ago there has been a rottweiler caged up in a pen without food or water at first. So I called animal control. they said they couldn’t do anything because the dog was of decent weight but there wasn’t any water dish filled so they got them to step up on their care for the dog. but this time I called animal control because the dog is lying in mud without any shelter for this upcoming winter. I waited until it was raining so I could call them with adequate concern. They are coming out today to check on the dog.
I had a neighbor growing up who was an airline pilot and would leave his dog tied up for a week straight with no one to take care of it…the animal control would come and rescue the dog (take it away from it’s owner) only for him to come back and buy a new dog of the same kind. I think this happened twice…dog would be taken away only for him to buy a new one and leave it tied up.
Good for you for taking action on this! if there is one thing that gets me so angry-it is animal cruelty. Most people would turn their heads on this kind of thing.
Call Peta!!!
There was a Husky in the yard behind the trailer where I lived and never got fed enough. never daily. The owner was old and relied on their son to come over and feed him, so it was like whenever, sometimes 3 days apart! I used to just go over and feed him daily, sometimes let him off his chain. On Thanksgiving he got all the turkey scraps which were a lot.
