Brexpiprazole, the Abilify for ADD

This drug just submitted its application. Made by the makers of Abilify, The drug was designed to help with both ADD as a Dopamine agonist and as antidepressant as a seratonin agonist. supposedly the drug puts the dopamine where your body needs it, and seratonin where your body needs it, blocking the schizophrenia parts. just like Abilify. well see, i would probably wait to take it when it comes out myself but Adderall type medicine that also helps with schizophrenia sounds amazing. also too good to be true i bet it has all kinds of dangerous side effects. i bet people lose weight on it.

Some more details from the July announcement:

Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Otsuka) and H. Lundbeck A/S (Lundbeck) today announced the submission of a New Drug Application (NDA) to the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for brexpiprazole for the treatment of schizophrenia and as adjunctive treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD).

The clinical development program included data from more than 6,500 participants of whom more than 5,300 received brexpiprazole. Following the submission the FDA will determine if the NDA is sufficiently complete to allow for a substantive review of the data; a decision from the FDA on initiation of the substantive review is expected in September 2014.
