I’ve tried a million different ways to explain my mental illness. Maybe PTSD, Genetics, or Trauma. I really have no idea. NAC has been helping me recently, and I read somewhere it was given to people in the military who had head injuries and it helped them recover. I also read that Turmeric and Fish Oil was good for brain injuries. Am I missing something? Are there other remedies for brain injuries?

Thanks for sharing the helpful post.
A lot of the supplements don’t work and are snake oil.
Personally I find antipsychotics are the best, I take fish oil, probiotics. I had a head injury but I don’t think it caused my SZ.
SZ can just be bad luck with genetics.
Schizophrenics often chase shadows. We tend to look for answers where there are none. Questions that have no answers.
I’ve been diagnosed paranoid schiz. That in itself answers a lot of questions in itself. Peace. Hope you find an end to your search!
Do you have a brain injury? I have one, and seeing a speech-language pathologist helped me a lot.
There are reports of people healing brain aneurysms with colloidal copper. I’m about to try that myself, for a suspected aneurysm that is causing constant head pain.
I did play football. I overdosed. I fell back really hard and hit my head on concrete and never did anything about it. I really don’t know if I have a brain injury @Ninjastar. Thanks for the advice.
Thanks @rogueone. It means a lot.
Also a couple of years ago I had really bad pain in my brain. It lasted for about a month. I got an MRI and everything was fine. The doctor said I didn’t have any brain issues. But I mean after the pain in my brain I couldn’t comprehend anything I watched on TV and stuff like that. I don’t think Football players brains look bad on MRIs. Then when they die and do an autopsy that’s when they can see the CTE. I don’t think I have CTE, but maybe I got hit in the head just right that doesn’t show up on an MRI.
Well there is great hope in the pipeline.
Here’s a list that @twinklestars put together that is freaking awesome !!
That’s a lot of drugs @unaventures.
Be careful with copper. Excess copper is toxic, like most metals.
I have white spots on my brain. And a pineal cyst. I definitely have had unrecognized neurological issues from SZA. I saw a neurologist who diagnosed me with chronic migraines and sleep paralysis.
Good question. It’s hard to say without knowing severity or more of the clinical picture, but there always is some hope, especially in the first year. An important thing to look at with a traumatic brain injury is to identify that new normal and optimizing function from that point on. Recovery entirely or partially is the goal of brain injury rehabilitation.
The brain is very complex. Brief disruption can happen, and full recovery can occur. A transient ischemic event can happen. Concussion can happen. A seizure can happen. A migraine can happen. A psychotic break can happen. All can recover fully or leave deficits. A good neurologist can help determine cause and effect.
