This thread is for things that you used to believe but realize now are not true.
One thing that I can think of off the top of my head is dogs only seeing in black in white.
I used to believe that dogs could not see any other colors. It turns out that this is not correct.
" So What’s the Truth About Dog Color Blindness?
Having yellow-blue dichromatic vision means that dogs are most similar to a red-green color blind person. They are very good at distinguishing between variations of blues and yellows, but cannot really see red and green all that well."
Can you think of a mistaken belief that you had in the past but no longer believe?
I believed fervently in the power of the Bermuda Triangle as a kid. I also thought that putting a used razor in a pyramid shaped thingie would sharpen it again.
I miss the grandiose foolishness of psychosis like thinking I am God and can do miracles etc but I don’t miss the suicidal and paranoid thoughts like that the devil and mafia are trying to kill me or a voice telling me I will get shot if I do any movement (catatonia).
I used to believe that someone was using witch craft and a crystal ball to spy on my thoughts and behavior — took years to get over it, and I still don’t feel comfortable, I feel like I’m being watched all day — no privacy
I used to think that cats could see in complete darkness. This is not true. Their eyes allow much more light to enter the eye, therefore letting them see very well in low light. They can see in low light much better than humans, but they cannot see in total darkness.
