Bought some Cpap disinfecting Spray

Its a hassle cleaning my Cpap equipment with soap and warm water and that doesnt kill germs and bacteria and viruses on my equipment so I bought some cpap disinfecting Spray just for all Cpaps and bipaps it is supposed to kill 99.99 percent all germs bacteria and viruses on cpap masks hoses and humidifiers which I wont clean the humidifier since I never used it a I read a Dirty cpap can cause serious lung infections and sinus infections so it is worth a shot trying this cleaner I will soon be getting and maybe I will start feeling better my guess is my cpap could of caused my illness I have and had for two months now

I was able to stop using my CPAP after losing weight…i no longer had sleep apnea. I tried to donate my machine but they wouldn’t take it since they’re difficult to sanitize. Definitely a good idea to disinfect your machine, maybe it’ll help your breathing issues. I hope you feel better soon.

A CPAP disinfecting spray can be considered safe as long as it is specifically designed for CPAP equipment and follows the manufacturer’s instructions;however, be cautious of generic disinfectant sprays or those containing harsh chemicals, as they could damage your CPAP components and potentially be harmful to inhale.

Key points to remember:

  • Check the label: Always verify that the spray is specifically labeled as safe for CPAP use.
  • Follow instructions: Adhere to the manufacturer’s guidelines for application and drying time.
  • Avoid harsh chemicals: Do not use sprays containing bleach, alcohol, or other strong chemicals which can damage the CPAP materials.

Alternative cleaning methods:

  • Warm, soapy water: Most CPAP parts can be cleaned effectively by hand washing with warm water and a mild dish soap.
  • CPAP cleaning wipes: Some companies offer specialized wipes designed for CPAP cleaning.
