Bored on the farm

hey, I’m just house sitting for family right now and nothing going on. I have to give one of the elderly dogs I’m watching a shot of insulin and two pills twice a day. I was nervous about giving the shot but it’s a small needle and he (tucker) doesn’t even feel it. Going to stop smoking tomorrow once again and feel good about it. Angie pulled a muscle in her lower back while at work and now after three days off with workers compensation she will go back to work tomorrow. I was pretty worried about it when I had to leave and she could barely get out of bed. but it’s alright now. how is everybody doing today?

Wishing you luck with the ongoing smoking battle. I’m mostly getting out and exercising this week, but there have been a few days I’ve blown it. Keep meaning to message you for support. Apologies, my short-term memory is on the fritz.

Yeh, farms are boring. Don’t miss living on one! Tonight’s plan is to hop on the exercise bike and cycle my way thru Pacific Rim, which just appeared on Netflix Canada. Otaku! Yay!

yeah, thanks pixel. I have been walking on the farm for exercise. there are four outside dogs that I take care of too so it keeps me busy. still bored though. I’m not used to being away from home.

You’re ambitious. If I can manage 15 minutes on the exercise bike I’m doing well.

I think it would be awesome to house sit on a farm. I feel like I would hear less voices in that environment. I live in town, in an apt building and feel like people are talking to my mind sometimes. Especially if my fans on or white noise. Today I have done nothing and I don’t plan on it. I worked the weekend and my mind needs a break. Hope you have fun there!

Good luck again on trying to quit cigarettes. It’s not easy. I was on an ecig for 6 months and then nearly smoked a cigarette. It’s like they’re always lurking around for about a year, trying to catch you out. I’m still cigarette free though thanks to my ecig. Yes, I know you’re not keen on them but they can’t be worse than cigarettes. They’re certainly dirt cheap to run compared to real cigarettes.

Being on a farm sounds nice. Sounds like things are going well for you at the moment.

Just good for you for getting out and doing something a little beyond your comfort zone.
Nothing new for me here. I tripped over our dog and sprained my finger. Ouch to typing !!
Yeah, dogs, can’t live with 'em, can’t live without 'em.

I lived for a while at an assisted living center way out in the country. At first I didn’t like it, but then I started going on these walks on the back roads in the area. I kind of got into the rural feeling. There’s stuff to do in the country if you’re an outdoor type of person. People in the area do a lot of hunting. There are also places to go swimming, and it is possible to do some motorbiking. I kind of miss that place.

Yeh, well, haven’t gotten there yet. Very hot and I’m out on the back deck with a sugary drink. Suspect today will be a loss.

Good luck quitting smoking. I did it in April, still crave! I love spending time at my friends farm. Enjoy your time.

I spent some time with my cousin on their farm when I was 13.
We used to joke that the only thing to do was watch the grass grow…her dad thought otherwise.

One morning we were hungry and al the adults had been long gone to work, so out into the slough to round up a couple of fat frogs, bothered a couple of chickens for eggs, and a delicious breakfast was made.

When you sprinkle salt on the skinned legs of the frog, it irritates the muscles so it looks like its dancing.
Sorry.
It does taste just like chicken, but we needed the hens for the eggs.

@jukebox good for you in delaying that stinky cig, even if only for a few hours.

You could always entertain yourself by making a few lists, (just for fun of course…not to be taken seriously)

A) All the ways those stinky Cigs cost you. (ie. your time by obsession, robs your “music money”)

B) All the ways you could lower the cost of those Cigs. (ie. grow your own tobacco, barter your music-will lay for Cigs,)

C) All the ways you love those stinky Cigs more than life itself. (literally…but remember, the quality of life is far more important than quantity. No sense in being unhappy-especially if it means prolonging your life.

Best of luck be with you on whatever you choose .
The best thing about a farm? No problem with neighbors if the music is turned up full blast.
