I always wonder if my book will ever take off…I keep looking at the book rate of my book on amazon and I can always tell when someone buys a book because the rating gets closer to the 100,000 for a day or so and then it floats to about 3,500,000. sad I want the book to do well…my publisher says for about $500 I can promote the book…who’s got $500?
I wrote a book too. I have no idea how to get it published. I don’t even know if I want it published. At any rate, I learned that I need a literary agent in order to get it into major publishers editors hands. How do you get a literary agent? Does anybody here know?
I gave up looking for an agent…no one wants to help the little authors like you and me…I self published through iuniverse…cost me $700 bucks to do it…I eventually got my money back but I have very low sales but feel good that the book is out there.
What is your book about?
It’s a record of what I believed while I was in the entirety of the seven months I was ill…it’s called “OUT OF IT - an autobiography on the experience of schizophrenia” anonymous…
I have an idea for a book that I want to write, but I haven’t started it. I am not sure if that is due to lack of motivation or fear of failure. It is a good idea, though, I think.
you have to write fifteen minutes a day…set aside time when you’re fresh like in the morning after coffee…in a year you will have a novel…fifteen minutes a day.
Thank you for your information. Very useful.
Write an update a few years from now about your recovery. Then do a TED Talk. That’s what this woman did:
That’s a very good idea, @jukebox, to publish your autobiography anonymously. I think I will do the same with my autobiography.
@SkinnyMe I wish I had put my name on the book now so I could’ve done book signings…held me back…good luck.
