this eliminates a lot of the mess involved with cooking rice, just open add some beans or broccoli, some seasoning or whatever you like. a wholesome vegan dish.

personally I found that rice gave me mucus in my throat, all grains do, maybe it’s the gluten I don’t know, it’s not as bad with the rice but its still there. I like rice and peas with a little butter.

Yeah I’ve gotten uncle bens it’s ok. Me personally prefer jasmine rice and Spanish rice and a couple other types of rice. Uncle bens isn’t the tastiest in the world but Is good enough and is convenient

I use this too… Uncle Bens sells some pretty good rice packets with Jasmine, red beans and other flavors. They are pretty low sodium. You may just be reacting to the glycemic load…it’s mostly carbs so it will quickly raise your blood sugar so it’s usually not good to eat a whole bag at once.

I used to live off boil in bag rice when I lived by myself. It’s pretty cheap, and filling. I might have to go pick some up soon

My family has always used boil in the bag rice. I was an adult before i learned to cook regular loose rice in a pot and i’m still not good at it.

I use the cheap brands. Their bags supposedly hold two portions, but I always manage to wolf them down on my own

parboiled rice is lower on the glycemic index than brown rice and it’s super easy to cook it right. It stays separated and doesn’t get all sticky. I highly recommend a rice cooker for anyone who likes to make rice on a regular basis. They are so easy and cook the rice perfectly every time and frees the stove up to the other pots you have going. It also keeps the kitchen cool in the summertime.

Haven’t seen those here in Canada for about 20 years now. These days I have an automatic rice cooker. Put in the rice, water, and flavourings of choice. 45 minutes later… BOOM! You got rice rice, baby.
