Bifocals question

I need to get my eyes tested again as I am having trouble reading things. Last time i was tested she said next time that i would probably need bifocal.

I like my small glasses which are only 32mm big. I ask are these too small to have bifocal lenses? Do i need a bigger pair of spectacles to cater for bifocal leses?

I tried googling it and couldn’t find the answer I eas looking for.

Does anybody have any in(sight)?

I find bigger glasses work better, tbh.

I’m not 100% about any of this,

But I used to work for an ophthalmologist who had an optical salon and I’m pretty sure you can get bifocals even on smaller lenses.

However, they’re more difficult.

And bifocals aren’t super easy to adjust to, so I’d just get bigger glasses.

The problem is that my lenses are thick! So a tiny pair of glasses are ideal to cope with thicker lenses.

A large pair of lenses magnify my eyes terribly and it looks dead weird that is why I opt for smaller glasses on my small face.

I had trouble with the smaller-sized pairs. For those who do a lot of screen work, I suggest getting “occupational” lenses. They are in a range for the near-sighted only. Excellent for reading and computer work without causing eye strain. Worth the investment.

I can’t find the smallest frame available for varifocal lenses, but it does say a larger pair is needed.

It looks like contact lenses may be the only option for me.

Or two pairs of glasses.

Oh vanity costs!

My eyes are very bad. I could not do the bifocal thing. Now I have 2 pairs of glasses. One for reading and one for wearing everywhere I go.

do you have a glasses lanyard so you can have one hanging around your neck and one pair on?

Must get annoying changing them all the time?

My reading glasses are always next to my bed. I only swop them to read my cellphone or laptop or the odd paper.

If I wear my far seeing glasses, and I hold my cellphone a little further from my eyes I can read good.

An optometrist told me that glasses for near and or far seeing is basically the same prescription, that’s why you can read with far seeing glasses if you hold the paper, cell phone, laptop further from you. Reading glasses is comfortable to read near you.

I don’t use a lynyard.

I have eight pairs at the moment. They’re so inexpensive through Zenni that my benefits let me buy multiple pairs, especially when I poach their sales. I have some that are single-vision, some that are bifocal, and some that are occupational (reading). I was happy I got a pair of browline sunglasses that are also bifocals. Means I can use my phone while out on a bright day.

I wear glasses. I have to go get another eye check up then eyeglasses. I’ll probably need bifocals when I’m a little older. It’s good you’re taking care of your sight. If you really need bifocals it would be ok . Rox
