Better things to do than go on this forum?

I’m trying to cut down my use of this forum to 1 hr per day. It’s not that I have a lot of free time, I’m quite busy. But sometimes I will sit on the bus for 2 hours to get home or be waiting 2 hours for support group to start, and all that extra time I spend on my phone. Sometimes I’m on my phone as much as 8 hours a day, despite also attending day treatment and support group, etc. I’m thinking I could read more books and comics? I have an iPad for that… I like romance and comedy a lot… I have amazon prime… I started a free online class on the history of Japan… maybe I could get a planet fitness gym membership?? Soon, like in a few months after day treatment ends, I plan to go back to work and I’m not sure I’ll still have energy for the gym?? Plus I don’t like being one of those people carrying a yoga mat on the bus in the middle of the day like I’m rich and don’t need to work or something… good ideas on fun, wholesome stuff to do in the middle of the day?

I think you should do what makes you happiest. Which sometimes also means going out of your comfort zone for tons of people. Don’t get me wrong. So good to find a balance of activities. But idk this board makes me happy even if there’s drama sometimes. It seems to help me. I slip in a lot of areas when I leave the board. Also gain in some others. But do what makes you happiest. The wisest choice for you.

If you have to create tons of activities you aren’t even sure you’re going to like then maybe you might as well post a bit cuz you know you like to. Maybe cut Down to 2-3 hours a day idk. My 2 cents. Good luck with filling your schedule with good stuff

I think it’s great you manage to keep yourself busy. You use this forum on your phone? I’m usually on a laptop but I checked in on my phone while I was mid-flight to California I think… it’s just so easy to pull up quickly.

Hope things go well for you.

Maybe you can get into home decor/organizing or embroidery if you’re creative or good with your hands. Right now I switch between knitting and studying. I’m working on my writing but I have my eye on a sexuality and family studies course lol so I’ll probably do that after. Just throwing ideas out there. Good luck!

Make a checklist. That works for me. I get everything on my lists done when I assign times to my activities. I’ve been able to fit in reading, prepping for school, cleaning the house, teaching my girls, making meals, washing, and anything extra. Really helps.

Well, today instead of surfing the net, I went shopping. Bought a cute bottle of mascara. Heavy mascara looks bad on me but this one is just a touch so it’s nice. I think I’ll start carrying earphones so I can listen to music on the bus. Mostly I need to work on getting my anxiety down… maybe I will take that online computer class to learn how to make my own webpage too! Hopefully I will be working as a tutor soon, though, and won’t have that much free time to spare!!!

Honestly, for me, I like coming on here.

I used to be on Facebook all the time till I came to the conclusion that all my info and personal life was probably being monitored.

Yes, you’re right. I go running occasionally but walking is a good alternative. My energy is low so sometimes at night I end up wanting to do something sitting down… I think a computer class would be a good investment because I can do it at a cafe without looking weird!
