Best antipsychotic to get rid of voices?

ive tried pretty much everything for the past 12 years, I think I tried clozoril in a psych ward, but they didn’t prescribe it so ill try that when I get a new psych

basically, this whole thing started when I was taking zyprexa and watching cnn while stoned on weed, and suddenly the weirdest stories started emerging in my head, sometimes it was relavent to reality, but my life got worse so bad, it was terrifying, ive dealt with suicide attempts, family members dying, and loss of income since that day. the voices in my head now mainly deal with government agents, before it was news anchors and celebrities, which pissed me off since what they were doing was inhumane (lots of intercourse)

I can explain what I heard in my head, but its extremely graphic

I spend all day listening to the voices in my head, and my haldol doesn’t work, I’m starting to get the sneaking suspicious someones been breaking in and drugging me and my family, and the police get extremely confrontational when I call and when they meet me, I think its because I’m dark skinned, so I cant really rely on anyone

I’m usually assaulted in psych wards, so I’m afraid

what pills are the best so I can try to get a prescription?

Hi. Welcome to the forum. We are all different when it comes to medication so it’s often about trial and error. Clozapine is good for some and that could be a good start. Always important to stop street drugs. They hinder recovery and make symptoms worse for most and have their own issues with psychosis.

yeah I know, I called the White House and now I dont really smoke marijuana, haven’t smoked in a day or two and I dont really feel like smoking

If your serious about getting better stop the weed. For most if you have schizophrenia it’s like pouring petrol on a fire. You just end up getting burned…

Have a good talk to your psychiatrist. If they are any good they should be able to get you on the path to getting better. Periods of psychosis are most likely damaging the brain…there’s enough evidence to suggest that but getting on the medications leads to better outcomes. It’s that simple.

i dont really smoke weed anymore… but thanks, ive talked to her, i ended up filing a medical report on her on the state medical board because she refuses to perscribe me my anti anxiety meds, but ill try again.

According to meta analysis, seems like clozapine ,amisulpride and risperidone

the weed might be making things worse. it is a risk to take it.

yea clozapine is most powerful.

good luck :+1:, you have to be patient with the meds too it may take up to 3 months for you to notice some kind of change.

In most efficacy order - clozapine, amisulpride, olanzapine, risperidone [1]

Try Risperdal first then Clozapine. They’re the 2 strongest meds, Clozapine is #1, Risperdal is #4 according to Wikipedia but Clozapine may have dangerous side effects like weakened immune system from reduced white blood cells similar to HIV. You need frequent blood tests for Clozapine, weekly at first.

Amisulpride 800mg per day has kept me sane for 2 years.

I am pretty much recovered now.

my main problem is the underlying anxiety that was being masked by the psychosis.

They also now say I am autistic, which I am not so sure about as it’s still a bit new.

That’s what happens I guess when you see a therapist… Also another supposedly good thing to do to ‘get better’.

Have you tried poly pharmacy?

Stop smoking weed. That is a must if you want to get better.

I used to be into all that, but I have been clean for 10 years now and I am much better for it.

Not sure if it applies to you, but re evaluate your current friends as if you’re doing drugs like weed it can attract horrible people.

Clozapine is the best for me. :mouse::mouse::mouse:

I take amisulpride 200mg (400mg when I relapse) and 5mg olanzapine, and voices not so bad. They tend to come and go unless I’m in an episode then I hear them more.

Do you sleep Good? Is amisulpride hard on stomach?

I sleep ok; I take my amisulpride dose in morning so it wears off by night. It doesn’t affect my stomach because I eat a meal when I take it.
