Best Advice You Ever Got From a Poster on This Forum

I was feeling a little blue about only being able to work part-time at my job because of my affliction.

An old poster who doesn’t come by anymore, @jaynebeal gave me some great advice about what it’s really like to be a parent with schizophrenia.

“Don’t kill yourself”. It works better when you don’t bother explaining the reasons for the advice.

I thought you didn’t have sz?

I was diagnosed with it for 5 years. My diagnosis just switched. Regardless, I definitely had psychotic symptoms for a long time, and at the time she gave me that advice I was very afraid I would never get to have a family.

It’s rare to get any good advice on this forum. Most people are just trying to be nice which is fine…
