If you bend a lot down why is it bad for your back?
Does anyone here bend down a lot?
Did you eventually get back pain or have you avoided it.

What do ypu mean? Bending how? Backward?
Like for example if I were to sweep under a low table I could bend my back so I get a better reach under the table.
Get straps to fix your posture. I should also get them, I sit a lot on my desktop computer, it gives me bad posture. I bet its also gaining weight and my belly giving me a bad posture.
Yea my brother uses straps… Never knew about them until I saw him use those recently
Don’t hurt yourself cleaning! It’s hard work
I’m not an expert, but I think it depends how you bend over. Bending over wrong can put pressure on your spine. Let me look it up…
Yea certain positions are bad for the back.
Yea, I have this sort of idea that I’ll be invincible to back pain but I guess maybe not.
Thanks everyone
I had back pain when I used to work in a supermarket eventhough I was fit and 135lb. I was lifting heavy stuff like those 18L water tanks. I never have back pain now eventhough I weight 285lb.
Its not tanks, its jug. I just googled.
I got back pain when I was very overweight.
I got a bit of backpain today aswell. I think I was bending too much at work.
I need to stop that…
I guess I still have muscles and thick bones
Be careful Mae. You don’t want to end up with permanent back injuries that will effect you in your later years. Or end up requiring surgery to fix the issues.
Okay Bowens, thankyou.
Bend with your knees and do it properly. Your body will adapt and strengthen with a new job but it’s important to do like lifting and use your legs rather than your back.
We got pretty intensive training in how to properly lift when I worked freight for Wal-Mart. Always use your legs is the golden rule.
I think if you could make some alterations to your cleaning it might be good for your back, like having a taller vacuum cleaner so you don’t have to bend down. But I’m no health professional.
