Been up since 5 am

Woke up from the xyrem coma and have not been able to fall back asleep since then. Getting my full range of not-on-a-sleep-med predicaments too like the slightest things being enough to keep me awake like the blanket position being off or being too cold, having to pee every 5 seconds (I’ve confirmed it’s some sort of nervous peeing because benzos and other meds that activate the parasympathetic nervous system greatly reduce the issue). It’s just miserable, it’s been a miserable 3 hours. I don’t know if I can keep going like this. I can ask the xyrem people if a dose increase will help but I don’t feel like it will just because I know how short its half life is. It’s happened like every time I’ve taken it though.

I take Atenolol to stabilise my nervous system, it is for the physical symptoms of anxiety and panic, I don’t get any side effects from it.
I first tried Propranolol which is the most common one, but it gave me Insomnia and headaches.

Narcolepsy medication. Was told it was the best of the best and would make it so I didn’t even need a stimulant to function anymore and would finally give me restful sleep. But so far my experience with it has just been insane. It makes me totally out of it weird like I’m on something illicit, makes me irritable, emotional, makes me binge eat at night so I’ve gained weight, and it barely keeps me asleep at all. I got 4 hours of sleep last night, no dreaming, and I may as well not have slept at all I feel awful. And I have work today. Lovely.

I’ve never tried a beta blocker before. I heard they can be good for overactive bladder stuff. Maybe I’ll look into it. Who prescribes it for you? Pdoc?

Good good…!!

You can get Beta-blockers from any doctor or nurse prescriber, they are very cheap, about £1 for 28 tablets, so don’t worry about if they are not covered by insurance.
People can’t take them with some antipsychotics that cause low blood pressure or low heart rate.
You can get an idea of which ones to take by looking for interactions on your medication literature.
I think you may benefit from an antidepressant but the ones used for anxiety can make people feel emotionless when taken with an antipsychotic, and some cause complete loss of sex drive.

One reason why doc gave me vraylar is he said it can be good for mood as well. If I don’t have success with it maybe I’ll try that next! Thanks

I am not well when I don’t get my sleep unfortunately, but if I coudn’t sleep I would drink calm magnesium yo help relax me.

Insomnia here too. I fell asleep last night at midnight, woke up at about 245 am. Only 2.75 hours of sleep. I wake up too early every darn morning. I just hate it. I take my morning meds then and hopefully I can fall asleep about four hours later, but not always. Then my whole day is wasted. My pdoc doesn’t know what to do about it.

I am only sleeping about 4 hours at night, and I take 50mg of Quetiapine at bedtime.
I think I will end up taking Olanzapine, and try at deal with the weight gain and hyperglycemia that it causes.
I think that I have more than just anxiety and personality disorder, there must be something wrong with my brain.
I think many of my psychotic symptoms are caused by the lack of sleep.
