So i invited a friend round who mentioned he had them. But now they must of been on his clothes cos im getting bitten to all hell in bed at night.
Phoned up the council and said its gonna cost me over 200 quid to remove them. I dont have that kind of money! I mentioned i was a vulnerable adult - and so ive emailed Social Services to see if i can get funding and ill pay them back for the treatment in installments.
Any one else managed to get social services in uk, to help with this kind of problem!? Seriously making me paranoid everytime i feel something in bed at night. Yet the council want all the money up-front. Surely im eligble for sum assistance given my condition!??
when i lived at the group home either last year or year before we had a guy there who had had bed bugs from the group home he was at before there. from what i remember they had some kind of heating machine that was suppose to make the building so hot it would kill the bugs. they also made us put bed shields on which is like a bed sheet that covers all of the bed mattress with a zipper. i think they also sprayed some kind of liquid too. but our land lord said it cost them like $4,000 for one treatment in a small group home building that housed 6 people. i think there was a outbreak not too long after they did the treatment but they came back to treat the isolated threat. i dont remember us having a outbreak after the exterminators were done and ive never had any issues with bed bugs it was just in that one dudes apartment.
Are you renting? Try asking the landlord if they will pay it. I used to get stuff done all the time when I was renting. Like when I had rats I got them to sort it out, it is kind of the same thing if they are pests.
The irony of it is im a Council Tenant. I would have thought the local Authority - whos my landlord would sort it out to stop it spreading to the other flats. I just want it treated, im not expecting it for free - i just gotta pay it back in installments, cos dont have that sort of cash.
Yeah - thanks for the responses. Ive ended up getting a payday loan (!) just so i can get rid of them. I would have thought the council would have been more helpful. Booked for monday. Cost me a damn fortune. I know who i caught them off as well - but i didnt have a go at him, he wasnt to know. Bang goes my dinner date with a woman over easter!
