They have the ability to help most of the time. Write down notes but dont let anxiety keep you on a medicine that doesnt work
I agree totally
Good advice @PikaTchu
Great advice. I wish I had been more honest with the doctors when I was young. I think my illness may have taken a different path if I had allowed myself to get help back then.
I also want to add that that is why I keep a symptoms journal. It keeps me honest with myself.
I try to be honest with my Doctor wasn’t this last time when I was prescribed a med that caused a severe allergic reaction thought he knew Never again will I accept the med I knew I was allergic to I thought he knew too now I can’t even trust myself or my Doctor.
IME honesty doesn’t always pay if you’re a psych patient . It very much depends on whether your pdoc or other MH pro is trying to win a ‘congenital idiot of the year’ award. If they are there’s little to no point in being honest. Being honest and persistent can get you labelled as ‘awkward, demanding, and troublesome’
If,on the other hand , you do have a genuinely good pdoc/other MH pro then yes- being honest is definitely how you should be.
