I had a bad experience with Haldol. They are suppose to explain to the patient that they need to take Benedryl with the Haldol. I got a migrating muscle cramp that started in my legs and moved up into my heart. I could barely speak as my words came out very labored and slurred. I thought I was going to have a heart attack from cramps in my heart. They injected me with Benedryl and I was OK after 5 minutes. When they first gave me the Haldol, they also gave me a Benedryl, but when it wore off , that is when the problems happened. They failed to tell me that if I had any side effects I should take some Benedryl. If find this kind of miscommunication very common in the Medical Community. One time I almost died because I was taking medicine a Neurologist prescribed me. The medicine was designed to help alcoholics who had nerve damage in the brain from drinking. Of course they failed to tell me that drinking alcohol in combination with the medicine could and had killed people. So naturally I took the pill and consumed Alcohol. I was up all night with electrical shocks going off in my brain. The next day my sister in-law, looked up the pill and told me a lot of people had died from taking the med and consuming alcohol with it. Of course the doctor did not warn me about that, even though she knew I was an alcoholic. And naturally the expensive Pharmacy I filled the prescription from failed to put a warning label on the side of the bottle, and of course the Pharmacist failed to warn me not to drink alcohol while using that medicine. So now I do a lot of research before I take any medicine.
Good Regards To You and Yours

I didnāt have muscle problems when I was on Haldol, but I was totally demoralized. It was awful. An alternative that worked for me is Geodon and Seroquel. They handle my symptoms without me really feeling them in any other way. Some people find Seroquel too sedating, but that hasnāt been the case with me. I donāt really feel it. A drug that made me restless was Prolixin. I had to pace when I was on that drug. It sucked. All the typical APās were extremely unpleasant for me to take.
