I have many bad habits. I’m trying to change them. But one habit I have is more like a compulsion and I don’t know what to do. I pick. I can’t stop. I’ll be screaming in my head don’t do it and the need to do it overtakes me. Do you have any ideas how to stop this? It’s really bothering me.

I have a similar situation and don’t really know how to fix it. I’ve tried the whole replace thing where you do something else instead of the thing you are compelled to do, but it’s not really helped.

Start exercising and cut off sugar. Just persist and you will have results. Do you feel guilty after giving in to your bad habit? If yes then maybe you are addicted to feeling guilty. It’s my case.
