Bad eating days

I’m on a strict diet. I’ve been really good. But yesterday and today I had some pizza. I feel guilty and not guilty all at once. We have family parties going on and eating the food that’s served is just so much easier. I think I’ll recommit after the last get together which is New Year’s Eve

I’m going to try again once the kids Christmas break is over. Then I’ll give it a good shot.

Does anyone know average weight gain during the holidays?

I looked it up. On average people say they gain 5 pounds during the Christmas season, but other studies show its only 1 pound.

I have seen studies say 2-5 pounds. :whale::whale::whale:

I always eat what is served, if it is a sit-down meal. It’s important to me to be socially appropriate and polite. But my body has taken a hit. I’m trying to read as much as I can about Keto to start in January.

dont feel guilty! it just takes time to learn what your body needs. Look for high fiber, low sodium foods

Even when behaving it’s nice to have treats! I might have gained a little over the holiday season but I don’t feel guilty. Your doing really well so having a treat is a good thing! Tomorrow just get back on the wagon and it’s no big deal!

When I moved to New Orleans they said you’d gain 10 lbs in a week!

Talk about being spot on hahah. I’ve never seen food and portion sizes like it and relatively cheap so we ate out at incredible food places!

I’m sure it’s true!

It’s the time of year.

I have gone from dieting to eating pizza over the last few years.

As long as you don’t make a habit out of it, I don’t think the occasional lapse will affect you too much.

Just get back at it in the new year. Only a few days left to go :fireworks:

Man I miss my 20s. I ate three times as much as I do now and my weight was 135 lbs and never budged in either direction no matter what.

Now I have to exercise and eat right? That sounds like an awful lot of work.

I totally get you @agent101g. For me, I think it’s the APs that keep the weight on.

I generally don’t get as much fruit and vegetables in the winter and that seems to have an effect.

I think I found a new diet hack though: I haven’t been willing to totally dump diet soda but instead of having it early in the morning I have it as late in the morning or afternoon as possible. This really seems to help me curb my appetite more and seems better for my gut bacteria.

That’s smart. I eat frozen fruit a lot in the winter so I’m still getting my fruit in. I get veggies fresh in the winter. I’m sure they’re imported but that’s ok. I don’t notice diet pop making me hungry though so that’s good.
