So my pdoc put me back on Seroquel. I’ve been psychotic on this med. But he told me it’s the best for akathesia. I’m worried I’ll become paranoid and psychotic. I do have tools under my belt for the paranoia but psychosis takes over and I’m not fully myself. I can’t really help psychosis.

Did he ever offer you something to add on to your existing AP to counteract akathesia ?

I follow @everhopeful. Where I am the doc would try and antiparkinsons med before changing the ap.

I have experienced akathisia on Seroquel, but I am prone to getting that side effect. I do think it has the lowest risk though. I still tend to get some akathisia for a short amount of time after I take my Seroquel each night, but for most of the 24 hours of the day I don’t have akathisia.

I wasn’t my best on seroquel either. I hope you will be OK.
