Dumb doctor took me off almost all my APs

I had so much respect for my doctor beforehand but now I’m just irritated. She took me off of almost all of my antipsychotics even though I told her I didn’t have akathisia until going on one specific one. Now all of my symptoms are back and they’re so terrifying. I haven’t been unmedicated like this for about a solid year. The last few days have been hell.

I wound up calling the place she worked at and another doctor got back to me and they were just as upset that she took me off of most of my antipsychotics. This could have hospitalized me. This just really hurt my trust in her, all because I was experiencing akathisia and I told her when it started up.

I’m so done. I might be switching doctors soon.

Maybe you should. Sometimes it can really help to change drs

I had a doctor who took away my ap. It is irresponsible of your pdoc to do that.

When I told my pdoc I had an episode of severe akathisia, she actually increased the Geodon dose.

That’s really neglect of.your doctor to the big silver star. ■■■■ happens but doing that to you is so Inresponsebly and lack of.human compassion. go get some meds that is really important and necessary

@R00nT00n Did the pdoc just take you straight off the meds without weaning you off? Surely that’s not the right way to do it as you could get a relapse of really bad symptoms! Hope you get a new pdoc soon :crossed_fingers:t5:.

Why do you want a lot of meds if the side effects are bad? Some of the side effects become permanent.

I’m on two antipsychotics currently. One (Seroquel) I’ve been on for three years, never had an issue. I started Abilify about a month ago, and ever since I went on it, developed Akathisia. I told her this, and even though it was obvious it was the fault of the Abilify, she took me off a major dose of my Seroquel as well. The Seroquel wasn’t the problem, yet she took me off of both and left me mostly unmedicated.

I think you misunderstood my post. Granted, I did make it in a psychotic state.

I’m on extremely low doses of Seroquel and Abilify. I used to be on a higher dose of Seroquel before she took it down, never had an issue with the Seroquel.

Get back on your Seroquel as soon as possible. Psychosis is very debilitating. I’m on 900 mg seroquel ir aswell. I can only say good things about Seroquel as thats the only 2. gen that worked for me. Besides of this I on the wonder injection Clopixol depot 500 mgs every 3 weeks.

She should have taken you off of Abilify. I took it only two days and had akathisia on it both nights I was on it. My pdoc took me off of Abilify and switched me to Geodon.

I hope you get help soon. That’s terrible that you could end up in the hospital because of her decision.
