Hi all I just got back from my doctors appointment and he wanted to put me on
Lurasidone. I checked with my pharmacy to see how much it would cost and it was 145.00. Too expensive so now I am waiting for him to call in something cheaper.
Some of the cheaper medications aren’t as desirable but they work well on some. I think haldol is pretty cheap but I’m not completely sure.
I think it’s so ridiculous the fact you guys have to pay so much for your medicine needs ;(
I actually was hoping for geodon or abilify.
I know it sucks purple twinkies. I am going to try to get on Medicaid. I don’t have insurance either.
Those two used to be the most expensive, Abilify was over $1000. For 30 days, unless something has changed.
Haldol worked for me and so did another ?Trillifon?.
Geodon costs like $350 for a 30 day supply. It’s ridiculous. Have you looked into getting on Medicaid, or another state-funded insurance program?
Does haldol help with paranoia and psychosis?
Forgot… how much did you pay? 145.00 was on a sliding fee .
You guys could go to India and stock up for cheaper than some of what these meds cost! I feel for you guys!
Haldol decanoate, -the shot every two weeks quieted my head way too much for my liking. Now the tablets, 10 mg and 5 mg -I preferred 5mg daily + 50 mg topamax, worked best for me.
Haldol was about $10 bucks for 3 months supply.
When I first started Abilify, it was over $1100. For 30 days.
Haldol is pretty cheap works well for me. Not completely though
Found out that geodom is 30.00. The Olanzapine is making me feel flat, loss of emotions.
Did the doctor diagnose you with bipolar depression?
I refused olanzapine within 2 weeks because of how I felt, Geodon made me feel the best out of it all, but your mileage may vary.
Just keep trying until you find one that works best with your body, and mind.
There are plenty of meds out there to sample.
I am diagnosed with schizoeffective bipolar.
The meds I am currently on are;
Olanzapine
Metformin
Gabapentin
Zoloft
Thyroid medicine
Trazadone
Older meds are cheaper but often come with more side effects so keep in mind. Lurasidone is one of the newest meds and one of the most expensive.
I have Medicaid and that is how I am able to afford my meds. my latuda without Medicaid would be over 1023 dollars a month. please get some help applying for Medicaid. if you don’t mind me asking do you get social security disability or ssi? usually if you qualify for either of those you can get Medicaid or medicare.
Latuda was too weak for me.
Abilify is pretty expensive here
