Asd assessment

Just getting it out of the way. Been waiting 3 years for an assessment.

Pretty sure I don’t have it.

I’ve always understood social cues etc. And I recognized autism in other people.

I have a lot of empathy and have no problems making jokes/understanding humor.

I don’t schedule my days.

I never arranged things in weird orders or behaved in a way akin to autism as a child.

Didn’t score high on online autism quizzes either.

Interesting. Why are you doing the assessment? I always score super high on asd quizzes. But sz and adhd are very similiar and related to autism. So i think its just because i have those. I think sza and adhd are enough disorders for me haha.

Doing it cos my mother asked me to.

I reckon they’ll say I’m not on the spectrum.

Excuse me, but the order I arrange things in works for me. If it’s weird for you then that’s a you problem and keep it to yourself.

I didnt know that was a sign. I do that all the time. :man_shrugging:

It is very odd to me that i seem to have every asd trait in the book. But no one has considered that i might have it except me. It would explain a lot if i did have it.

I meant in childhood. Lining stuff up etc. Weird meaning unusual.

I repeat: How I did things as a kid and how I do things as an adult was/is fine for me. You’re the unusual one. Deal with it.

Ok the word is abnormal

I was just saying I didn’t do the things typical of somebody with asd. I have two people in the family with it who lined stuff up.

I find NTs abnormal. Wasting time on filler conversation and living unorganized lives. To me they are the broken ones.

This is what I think too.

I used to line my bedroom walls with all my toys as a kid. I’ve been told I have ASD traits by a psychiatrist in 2011 but never been formally diagnosed with it. I have SZA and a intellectual disability.

My intention was not to offend anyone.

I just didn’t know how else to describe children arranging things in orders that were unusual.

Even sz is weird.

Who cares. Taking offence is in the mind of the beholder.

I care. I am tired of being described as weird or abnormal.

You’re easily one of the smartest persons I’ve interacted with online, and I’ve interacted with more than my fair share of really smart people. online.

Would love to know how people get these assessments. Because my 3 year old son is having slot of problems and we are refused an assessment. Been fighting for one for over a year.

If you notice traits of asd, do try to contact your gp, or a pediatrician. I think it’s important that children get all the support they need, esp before starting school. I do wonder if I possess some asd traits. They must be very mild. I used to be obsessed with Science when I was a boy.

My previous comment was to you @shutterbug
