Are you looking forward to eating Christmas meals?

I am looking forward to eating Christmas dinner or lunch. I am not sure what my family plans on eating….. I am looking forward to it. I have been wondering what eggnog tastes like for a long time. What does eggnog taste like?

It’s sweet and rich, like a dessert. You don’t want the traditional egg nog which is made with alcohol, get the non-alcoholic kind.

You are tempting me to drink alcohol. Lol lol lol

The non-alcoholic version tastes better.

I am making lamb for Christmas this year. Beef is too expensive because of the drought. Normally I make prime rib. My son’s girlfriend couldn’t join us for Thanksgiving so I made her a dinner of lamb chops with sides. She really liked it so I’ll prolly use the same recipes at Christmas since no one in my family tried her dishes.

Cant stand it. Christmas Eve I return from “the liturgical practises close to midnight”, then begin to prepare the vegetables and prime the meat. Come morning, we spend the whole time cooking. Then by the time we sit down to eat, we’re exhausted and not hungry for a big dinner. Every year we say “Lets just have the veg and trimmings” but never do it haha by 2pm we are tided away! And dare I say, this year I’ve got some of my wife’s family coming. Its going to be stressful this year for me, but Im prepared to indulge in this experiment for my wife’s sake.

We aren’t doing a traditional Christmas dinner this year as the kids won’t eat a roast so we are doing a buffet. I will really miss having the roast but maybe at some point over the Christmas period I will go for a carvery to make up for it.

I’ve been saving up my Tesco club card points so I will get some nice things to eat over Christmas.

I don’t have some family member who cooks tons of food and shovels it at us all holiday like some of the people here seem to have. If we eat a meal we finish it and have no leftovers.

However, we will celebrate by eating out one or two times. Once at a cheaper lunch place and probably once at Outback Steakhouse, our favorite pricey restaurant… and yes I’m very much looking forward to those two meals!

I’m so excited for Christmas dinner.

We spent Thanksgiving at my mother in laws so it was all vegan. It was good, don’t get me wrong, but not the same

These are the ideas for when my mom is here for Christmas.

  • scalloped potatoes
  • Homemade sweet rolls
  • Ham
  • Turkey
  • Homemade baked beans
  • Stuffing
  • Cranberry sauce
  • Chocolate caramel tart
  • Apple crumble/crisp

I feel like something is missing.. though that’s plenty of food. It’ll just be my mom, the 2 kids and I..
