For Christmas on 24th evening, we are going to a big town party, 4 couples and their 7 children.
I really hope it will be fun. There is a band and alcohol is not included.
I decided on what to wear already, maybe I’ll take some pictures.
We are not exchanging presents between friends or couples.
Then on new year’s we will spend with a close friend and their family. I already bought gifts for all the kids and they make delicious food.
We do xmas day at my sisters. Heated pool and two kids the only ones in our immediate family. The brother in law, little brothers and I drink a lot of beer and eat a lot of good food. It’s always a good day.
On boxing day all the extended family visit my sisters so we usually hang around to say hi to everyone and watch the start of the Boxing Day Test Match ( cricket ) on the tv. Always a good time of year and it’s good catching up with everyone.
I’m not sure what’s on the menu for this year, but everyone will be bringing in cooked meals.
I’m sure that different meats and veggies will be served.
where I come from, for some reason they make lamb for Christmas. Which I hate. I mean eating big animals is still a lot better than killing tiny baby animals! Anyway, I wonder what my friends will make, I want to try and bake a series of cookies next week, all in different flavoured icings.
We are going to have my inlaws over for Christmas. It will be a lot of people in a tiny house (6 adults and 4 kids). I’m a little nervous, but Thanksgiving worked out ok, so I think it will be fine. My husband is off two weeks from work - yay! and the kids are off the same two weeks from school. Not sure what to do all that time, but it will probably be a stay-cation.
For New Years, we plan to go to a party at my friend’s house. There will be a lot of people there too. I hope I will be ok (I’ll be taking my propranolol for sure). It should be fun to catch up with all my friends that I don’t see often.
I’m not sure what to have on Christmas. We will probably just order Chinese food since I hate the drama of cooking on the holidays Everyone has their feeling hurt if the meal doesn’t include some favorite food and other such issues. It’s just better if no one cooks and we get some yummy Chinese food.
I plan on spending the night at my Mom’s on Christmas eve, then my family and I are gonna open our gifts first thing in the morning on Christmas day!
