But i bit the bullet and got my own in the end.

Around $40/month. It’s 100Mbps plan.
My understanding is that you guys in the states get fleeced by ISPs and mobile networks/carriers because there is virtually no competition.
That’s pretty much how it is. Though there’s more competition with mobile phones than cable providers.
Someone I was listening to yesterday was saying they pay like $100 a month for their phones because their carrier barely offers anything under that. I was like WTF. I pay £10 to my mobile network and bought the phone separately for £400. Obviously wont be as powerful/modern phone but functionally it cant be that different.
My phone is just a hand me down from my husband. Still works fine. Our combined bill for 4 phones is a bit over $100. But our carrier has plans for $15.
Okay. Maybe this person wasn’t speaking truthfully or was exaggerating. $100 for one month would be insane. I couldnt do more than $30 a month regardless of income. It just feels like a rip
Oh, no. They were being truthful. Some carriers do have crazy bills. Verizon is one.
We pay £117 a month for virgin media package including 212 Mbps (checked right now) internet speeds. All the cable channels (sky movies and sports) with 3 tivo boxes. (box in my bedroom) We also have phone line with calls in package. Because it split 4 ways I pay towards it £30 a month. I live in a group home so we all contribute.
Will my mobile phone I pay £9.17 a month for 1500 minutes, 6gig data and unlimited tests. also free roaming charges in Europe which comes in very handy for me as going travelling quite a bit.
