So an update, its been a while since ive been on. I broke my phone but just got a new one so thats good. But apart from that I recently started my meds. They have me on Zoloft and Abilify. The abilify is ok, it makes me feel like a stick of butter melting, its a bit unpleasant but my voices dont speak to me as much. I hope soon they will go away all together. My real problem is with zoloft. I get extremely nauseous when j take it. I literally have thrown up everyday since I started it. The only thing I can stomach is water. And ive just lost my appetite for food. In the last three days I had half a sandwich. That was all. It would be amazing if someone would tell me how they fight side affects like this. I cant even force myself to eat. The smell of food , the texture. It all just… idk turns me off.
If this drug is making it so you can’t eat… or hold down food and you vomit every day you take it… it’s time to talk to the doc and get off this one.
That is a very serious thing… I’m so sorry you’re barely able to eat. You’ve gone three days on only half a sandwich… that’s scary.
I do hope you tell your doc this one and find something else that will work better.
In the mean time, you may try glucose drink(with no flavour, just for calories intake)?
Ill do that, thank you for the input, but my doctors office will be closed till after new year. So ill see about that glucose drink in the meantime. Thanks everyone
Sounds like the zoloft is either too strong or just not the right one. Sometimes with stronger medications it can help to eat before you take it. I know that will be hard when you are already feel so nauseous however eating crackers, bread and drinking herbal tea may help as the medication may be hitting your system to hard without food to buffer it.
You may want to buy some nutritional drinks like Ensure or Boost. They can be found at pharmacies or Wal-Mart. They are packed with essential nutrients, so if you need nourishment for a little while, these can help. They are NOT a substitute for food, but if you’re starving yourself due to meds, it’s worth looking into these supplement drinks.
