I did on risperdal. Zyprexa is a lot better. I had the opposite problem though on high doses of effexor an ad. That really was a pain but on lower doses not so bad.
I remember when first of risperdal it was bad though.
Clozapine did this to me
Yes Risperidone did this to me too @rogueone,
Now Seroquel & Amisulpride, along with Pregabalin cause terrible constipation.
I’m now taking Movocol , it certainly helps but I’m concerned it may cause a lazy bowel.
I know some people don’t want to talk about this but surely many have gone through this
Important to know these issues so it’s no drama bringing it up. Yeah I used a natural laxitive. It was a bit kinder on the body but took a while to get moving. Not sure the brand…I think it was senakot or something. I’m sure others will add to the conversation as I think it’s a common thing.
Senakot works great, and is very gentle. Tried both max strength and normal Sena.
I’m using Movocol and I must say it’s good. I read if you rely on it it can cause the bowel to become lazy.
Had to get it off my doctor as I am so bloated and uncomfortable
moved to #medications so people can find this thread more easily!
Did for a little bit but got lucky and it went away. Bathroom clogging
Oh I know how it feels
Movocol is working now. Prior to this it’s been a nightmare
I’m on clozapine duloxetine atenolol
I have no problems with constipation
I eat lots whole grain and lots fruit
When they tried to put me on more than 600mg of seroquel it caused constipation. I came off seroquel in the end for other reasons.
I’m on 750mg of Seroquel 300mg morning and 450mg at night. I believe this AP is certainly to blame x
Yeah, I think you’re right…
I use metamucil and benefiber every day.
They give me lactalose on prescription free
I have lactulose, but told to take Movocol because lactulose causes terrible wind.
I literally have about 8 bottles because it’s on my repeat. It’s because the constipation has cased me to have haemorrhoid’s and Movocol works differently. Slower but without wind.
Lol I can’t believe I’m talking about my bowel issues lol x
Coffee helps to me as a laxative.
I eat a probiotics yogurt every day. It really helps with my bowels motility.
Yes I’ve heard about coffee being a good laxative. I don’t know how much more though I can drink! lol x
I have never had any AP cause constipation in my case and I’ve been on quite a few of them over the years.
