Anyone use a pill cutter?

If so do you have any recommendations? I’m tired of using a knife as it sometimes break the pill in pieces. I’d like it to be preferably from an store but websites like Amazon are ok. I’d like to see what you have to say about the product though.

Are they messy?

Yeah it’s very cheap and looks nice. That’s a good recommendation. :+1:

I just find them difficult to set up the pill in the device.

Using a razor is more precise

But I wouldn’t advise on using a razor blade if you have a history of self harm.

I’ve never heard of a pill cutter.

Either I brake it in half on the groove or the pharmacy makes a preparation if that’s not possible.

Basically I do it with my fingers but I guess you could do it more accurately with a cutter.

Yeah I’ll sometimes split the pill in half, breaking it apart with my hands.
If the pill is large enough

The risperidone pills are so small though I even tried to use a spoon trick some guy on youtube did but that didn’t work either.

Ha. I only have to break a clozapine pill. But my fingers are dexterous.

Invega, Wellbutrin and Tranxene you can’t break.

Lol. My fingers aren’t tired of typing or clicking the like button. I guess they are trained daily and in good shape.

I just found one of my local pharmacies sells pill cutters. Still at least I got your opinions.

Edit: And help too.

I use them. They are cheap. Results vary by how hard the pills are.

The VA gave me one but I don’t know what I did with it. I just pop them in half.

I take prevastatin for cholesterol and only half a one a day. They only refill the prescription every three months.

I use a pill cutter but it really only works on scored pills. I suggest you get a really good one, and press quickly and firmly. If it’s not done right you end up with pill crumbs. I don’t advise pill cutting unless necessary. They say the med isn’t as effective when cut up.

Do you think the Ezy one is good? My pharmacy is selling an Ezy one like the one from amazon and Bagul says it works fine.
