Anyone try Claritin?

I’m getting allergies again in my house
I’m suspecting that it’s my cat that I’m allergic to.
For a while I felt that I was allergic to my cats hair but it went away but now it’s back.
I asked the pharmacist to see which allergy medication would be safe for me to take with all the medications that I take and she suggested Claritin.
I took my first 10mg dose and hopefully I won’t have a bad reaction to it.
I’ve never take an allergy medication in my life before.

Anyone else tried Claritin?

Is it a safe effective med?

Allergies suck, I hope they go away for you.

You said you were sick yesterday. How do you know it’s not related to that?

No I left the house for the first time since my symptoms flared up and my symptoms cleared up.
No more sore throat, no runny nose, no mild headache and no sneezing.
I returned from the market and came back home and my symptoms returned.

I’m definitely allergic to the cats dander or hair. @anon55031185

Thanks @TheCanuk

So far it’s not working that well
My nose is runny as hell

i dont have allergies but i think avoiding the allergen will be more effective than masking the allergy symptoms with the drug. i dont know too much about it tho but antihistamines are not good long term as they say benadryl long term can lead to increased possibilty of dementia

Yeah I think that this will be the only time I take it.
It’s working maybe just a little bit as my throat is ok but my nose is still runny and I have a mild headache

I may reintroduce the cat allergy reducing food from Purina, Live Clear

@anon4362788 recommended it

my mom always tells me its not the hair from animals that triggers allergies but like the dander or dandruff that comes off of them. thats interesting their are allergy reducing foods, my brother is allergic to cats but not dogs so much. my last dog was hypoallergenic but current dog sheds so much its crazy
