Hi so is anyone taking Invega (Paliperidone) sustained release injections?
How many days does the drug last? Any precautions to be taken? What’s the cost? Please help. Thanks!
It cost around 1700. It was a huge mistake for me. I’m waiting for it to get out of my system.
I was on it for a while. It worked ok for me. I did get very mild akathesia the first few days after the injection. I preferred invega in pill form. A decent med for me it is.

I did very well on a monthly shot. I took it for approximately 7 months for a study. It was, however, a generic equivalent to Invega.
I liked the energy I had on it. I found myself doing more cleaning and other small tasks while I was on it.
The downside is that I didn’t do as well near the end of the period after the shot. About a week before the new shot, I would experience an increase in agitation when things didn’t go the way I wanted, especially in regards to communicating with those around me. A subtle increase in paranoia as well.
All meds work differently for each individual and of course, environment plays a key part as well.
I think part of the study affected my perception of how well the shot worked. I had to be in-patient for 3 days for part of the study, where I would receive the shot. At the end, the length of time I on the study unit was longer, about a week. This was not a emergency unit, it was only patients on different studies.
Look up “coming off invega” there’s a lot of people dealing with the same thing. I would rethink taking this medicine. It blocks your dopamine and serotonin receptors. Do your homework. That shot is poison to me. They’re making a killing off it though.

Its very expensive out here in the US and the dosage for regular usage is around 500-1000 but i’m taking 1500 because my doctor thinks i’m hyper active or something. I am 22 years old and I need to get off these high dose.
