The doctor is switching me to Latuda.
Could someone who’s taken it tell me a bit about side effects, how long they lasted, and what I should be aware of?
I dont actually get any side effects from Latuda. It’s the only med I have ever had that on. It has worked quite well for me too.
The doctor did tell me I’d have less side effects.
Are you able to cry? I’m not able to on Invega
I remember I got really angry when I was taking it, I don’t know if that was the med or just my situation.
I had akathisia with latuda when I used it together with invega
I personally did not do well when I was on Latuda. It kept making me to stick my tongue out- I’m not entirely sure why it happened, though.
How are you, @Pikasaur? Are you doing okay?
It was a really good ap, especially for depression. I had to stop taking it due to extreme akathisia. But that wasn’t till I got to 120mg. It’s easy to get off of as well.
I don’t really cry but I guess so.
I’m alright I suppose. Been very tired today, but no luck napping. How are you?
Oh no
sorry to hear that.
I’m tired and I just woke up!
The only side effect I get from it is anxiety plus a little nausea every night. It made me somewhat cheerful too.
I had to stop it almost immediately because shortly after starting it I was making a plan to off myself (the thoughts went right from contemplating to planning). I had never made a plan before. Never have since either. I was not on it for long. I’m hesitant to post because I’m not trying to discourage people from a drug that could help them, I know it’s different for every person taking it. I hope it does good things for you, you can just keep an eye out for possible bad side effects and contact your pdoc as soon as they happen… just in case.
Sometimes the effects of these drugs can feel so random. I haven’t gained any weight on Zyprexa, for example.
It made me gain a lot of weight because of the calorie requirement.
I was on it for 5 years before it stopped working. Best AP in my opinion. It’s an AP and AD in one.
Calorie requirement?
I lost weight which was great. It helped my symptoms a lot too.
After 18 months though I got akasthsia and my pdoc took me off it as he didn’t want me to take beta blockers
You have to have 350 calories when you take it
@Joker are you all taking about Latuda/Lurasidone as iam currently on it and had side effects while on a higher dose, but since been reduced none tbh.I was on olanzanpine before and imo this is much better AP tbh.
Yep that’s the one. It just didn’t agree with me in the end. I liked it whilst it worked fine.
I think it’s really good.
When I first increased dose I had jaw clenching that really hurt and was uncomfortable but it went away after I was used to the new dose.
