I started depakine 2x50]mg daily and I love and hate it. I love it because it caps my possible mania and I hate it because im a zombie almost the whole day, even coffee doesnt help. What is your experience being on depakote?

I was very briefly on depakote.
I quit taking it because it made me feel weird and has potential to make your hair fall out.

I’m on depakote but I’ve never heard it called depakine. It always calls itself Divalproex Sodium. I take two 500 mg tablets a night. I notice zero change other than stabilization of my mood which is the point (I’m schizoaffective but have taken Depakote since the days before my sz symptoms when my diagnosis was bipolar)
I’ve been taking it nightly for the last 23 years I think? It’s the one medicine I never discontinued.

Sexual nightmares? That sounds kind of fun.
The only nightmare I have anymore is “oh crap! I forgot I was a non smoker now and I smoked a cigarette, now I’m eternally addicted again.” Seriously I have this dream once a week since quitting and it is driving me insane.
Lol it wasnt fun it was harrowing.

Did the sluggishness go away for you?
I’ve been on Depakote for decades
It’s a good med for me
It dampens my highs quite well
It used to tire me out but no longer
My diagnosis is bipolar disorder

I was on depakote when I don’t even remember what I was doing to myself. I had many many nightmarish episodes. Been on plenty of different meds. Now on one med not sure if it is going to work but feel it is better than before. I am not engaging myself in risky activities and not much of depression but have to drag myself to do stuff.

Used it for a couple of days and hated it. It may have been fcking with my liver.
