I’m sick to my stomach right now because I ate ice cream today. My psych clinic didn’t have any antacid for my heartburn this morning. At least my heartburn is gone now.
23andme DNA tests said I was likely lactose intolerant based on my DNA. Surprise… Surprise.
Maybe I don’t know enough about DNA tests, but I don’t think I’d let a DNA test tell me if I’m lactose intolerant. Seems like maybe a doctors diagnosis would be better.
For me personally, ice cream is one of those things I can eat when I DO I have a upset stomach. Seems to be soothing. Of course this is without considering the blood sugar factor.
Thanks @Bowens. All I know is milk makes me sick to my stomach. I really know why. I guess it could be an allergy too.
No, I am not lactose intolerant. And I’ve just discovered Cherry Garcia ice cream! But I can’t eat pizza because my throat is constricted!
Thanks @Jinx 151515
My husband is. I’ve learned how to cook without milk.
I could be wrong too. I’m hardly an expert in this field. I have never had one. I just wouldnt trust one to diagnose a medical condition myself.
Thanks @anon4362788 @Bowens
If milk and soft milk milk products make you sick,it is likely you have lactose intolerance. You don’t need a diagnosis to limit dairy. In fact, any food that causes discomfort should be avoided by anyone.
Lactose intolerant people can usually eat hard cheese and fermented milk products like greek yogurt and kefir. In fact, greek yoguet helps settle my husband’s stomach when it is very upset. Likely due to prebiotic avtivoty that dogests lactose.
This is me to the button. I can eat hard cheese though I don’t eat it often. Thanks @anon4362788
