Anyone improved their negative symptoms by changing meds? What meds?

I’ve had some meds make the negs worse, but nothing has made them much better. Some things only give a small boost like sarcosine. Taking probiotics also helps a bit. A good exercise session is the best thing I have found for getting immediate and noticeable relief TBH.

negative symptoms in me are bad regardless of whether or not I am on medication. They came before the Positives

I think Negative symptoms that do not improve with med withdrawal are called primary Negative symptoms.

I wonder if your size also adds to lethargy? My mom was telling me about my uncle. He’s around 400 pounds and all he does is sit in a chair at home he doesn’t really move much anymore.

How old is he? I think age also matter.

The bigger I am, the less I’m able to move easily and the less I feel like moving because of the fatigue and discomfort involved. That means I sit around doing nothing but eating and gaining more weight. Positive feedback loop where I get increasingly unwell, tired and sedentary.

I improved my negatives after 2 relapses, then going back to the same med (aripiprazole). I don’t advise you to follow my example though, as I consider myself a very lucky guy. Most people get worse after relapsing several times. I don’t have an explanation for why my negatives got better, other than I strongly believed they would, and I also prayed. But many people pray and believe, with no such positive effect. So I really don’t know.

I tried praying before, it didn’t work so I gave up. I think it made me OCD.

I’ve already told you this before. But Wellbutrin helps with my negs.

For me it was the switch from abilify to geodon. But everyones different, and as @TheFountainPen wellbutrin would probably be a good choice too that helped

That is indeed true, wow your memory is impressive @LevelJ1 !!
I still have a visible scar on my forehead, where the tDCS burn was.
I also tried sarcosine, pregnenolone, NAC - with no luck.
Negatives are a b*tch.
Again, I’m very fortunate to have gotten rid of them eventually. Well, most of them anyway.

I have tried it, it made the positives worse a bit and had insomina eventhough I took the 150mg in the morning.

In the beginning it also made my positives worse and then it settled down. I’m a fan. It has improved my life since I’m not suicidal anymore.

I don’t want to discuss religion here, as it’s taboo, but whatever boosts your confidence and hope should be considered, prayer included. So if you choose to pray (again), do it with a feeling of trust in the higher power(s), not with fear of being judged. That’s what I tried doing anyway.
