Just wondering if anyone else has ever been signed off from psychiatric/mental health services.
yea my early intervention team as it is called in the uk I have been signed off since it is just for 3 years since diagnosis.
however I have a mental health nurse I see once per 4-6 weeks.at my gp. he is a lovely chap.
how long ago were you signed off and how long were you with them?
I was signed off a few weeks ago, during lockdown, but i’m not bitter about it, i was worried about it briefly but now its pretty cool, i feel a bit more self sufficient, a bit mor independent and a bit more free, i discharged my cpn in 2013 i think and now i have been fully discharged, i havent got any support at all but if i need anything i have to contact my GP.
I’d been getting support from the age of 21 and now i’m 38 so 17yrs and my pdoc re-diagnosed me couple years ago too, from para/sz to mixed personality disorder.
feels like progress
@Butterflyy i dont think i had an early intervention team, is it a new service?
yea it does sound like progress as well, nice one
I was signed off, just get meds from my GP now, she can refer me back if things go bad
I’m signed off from my CPN and consultant. But I am on fast track in case things go south.
Nice one MM are you in the uk? what did you think about it
thats great spider, what do you think about it?
I wasnt sure how prevalent it was but was told a lot of people had been signed off during lockdown.
I got discharged from CMHT and I ended up with med issues, and it was so slow to refer back and I got so bad that by time they got to me I had to be hospitalised by crisis team.
I have been with them ever since, but I don’t know how long it will be before they get rid of me again.
I do worry about it, but understand the needs of others may be greater.
I have not seen a care plan for 3 years now
Hi fade, i hear you about the needs of others but i i think sometimes it can be a good thing (if you are recovered enough) like another step toward recovery,
I’m hoping i don’t get re-reffered. I want this to work
I can’t remember ever seeing a care plan lol
I hope you don’t need to be either!
Remember though not to let things get out of hand and see the GP as early as possible if you notice any problems.
My GP doesn’t mess with psych meds
thanks, i will definitely do that, i am pretty lucky though bc i was told it doesnt affect my membership with my clubhouse so i can still get support from them… well its not the same kind of support, my clubhouse is more about me taking the initiative so i dont need my mental crutches anymore,
No Canada, I prefer it, office is downtown and a pain to get to
