Is the ad free, offline available version of YouTube. Just wondering if anyone has tried it?
why would i pay a toll to rummage through garbage island for useful knick knacks?
I’ve used it before. I like it, but it is on the expensive side. I like it because I use YouTube’s music app, and because I hate ads.
Yeah it’s a bit too pricey for me to justify I think.
Not worth the extra money for me.
Tbh I only really watch joe rogan podcasts so I can’t justify the price is like £12 or something - that is more than Netflix.
Oh I like watching the video version of the podcast. Thing is YouTube adds adverts.
Pity you don’t have android. Lots of youtube apps to give you an ad-free experience.
you’re in…u wanna say scotland?
do you guys get a lot of advertising over there?
here in the states it is relentless
Yeah, I tend to watch on my Apple TV . Man I am such an Apple fan boy. But I would never buy a Mac - pc all the way in those circumstances
Ten years ago there were laws on how many minutes an hour worth of advertisement they were allowed to put on terrestrial tv. But those laws are totally relaxed now so I think it is similar to the us now.
We don’t have adverts for prescription drugs though. That would be a total no-no here.
i guess were in the same boat then!
you dodged a bullet with the drug ads. the last thing i want to be gently reminded of when watching a tv show i dont particularly enjoy is the fact that im at risk for some condition which i have never even known about and that i should talk to my doctor about it.
“are you over 40, human, have eyes, ears and trouble sleeping? you may have such and such condition. talk to your doctor about it, and if you can, tell everyone you know to do so.”
i mean, i know advertising can be impersonal and stuff, but the drug ads can be a bummer to a sensitive person like myself.
and then all of a sudden i need to buy a certain type of candy at the local drugstore. do i even eat candy?
though i tend to exaggerate, i suppose a purpose of the ads is to gently nudge the behavior of consumers who are unsure of exactly how ads work.
i like joe rogan’s podcast because the interviews seem personal and honest. im just at a point where im not that into watching people acting, it never held real magic fir me and might never do so ever again.
Have you ever been to a theatre to watch a play? I haven’t been since school - but I found those a lot more engaging than tv.
you know, yes i have.
i put up a bit of resistance always as i dont want to be charmed against my will
i think the south park creators made a play a few years back, and i think that might be watchable
otherwise the whole “high culture” thing kind of turns me off
Yeah I think there can be snobbery in theatre, but I think that’s mainly from the patrons - not the writers or actors. I am sure they would love everyone to go to the theatre.
Saying that I wouldn’t have the courage now to go to a theatre on my own.
i dont even believe acting to be an art form. practice practice practice memorize and be friends with the right people. if you cant read learn to do so so you can use the teleprompter
and pray that “being friends” doesnt involve some trading of sexual favors
im completely convinced theyre just as corrupt and full of â– â– â– â– as the rest of us
why must we put them on a plane separate from normal everyday humans? because they told us to?
I have the family subscription for 5 people for 15$, the family shares Netflix with me so this can be reciprocation. The sub also includes YouTube music and google play music unlimited music, I listen to music all day. And YouTube music is really good at suggesting music, it knows when I am sad. The red premium stuff is not for me except mindfield.
I also love listening to audiobooks on YouTube with my screen off and locked. Lectures, music, educational videos, audiobooks, it is worth it.
I often watch motivational videos too as part of my morning routine to wind up.
I had it for a few months then I decided to keep Spotify premium instead for my music. It was nice being able to listen to video with other apps but it also only let me play things from one device at a time and that was annoying.
