İ always want to be aquarist.i want to challenge about take care of wide range of tropical fishes.but its so hard to arrange water quality for delicate fishes.so i gave up.any lucky and intelligent person to take care of wide variety fishes and good clean tank?
Yeps I worry about the same thing. I have no clue about natural water quality. It makes me sad to think that fish would be in my house but living in an unatural ‘air’. I eat fish, I don’t want to cause more suffering to the fish by forcing them to live in an unnatural air. Lol. Don’t I sound like a goodie goodie
İ think key factor at good clean aqua water is called “nitrogen cycle”.but i have no experience on this.
It’s a lot of work. My mum had fish when my little brothers were young. It was really a pain to keep the aquarium clean and filters and stuff would clog up too frequently. It really is a lot of work to keep them in a good state but others may have better advice.
I used to keep saltwater aquariums. They are a lot of work. Unfortunately my new house doesn’t really have a place to put one. With corals and the like they really are a work of art.
@TomCat As far as i know salt water is the most challenging aquarium.it has lot of things like protein skimmer etc.
When the fan is on i feel like a fish in a tank. My flat sounds similar like the pump in the tank.

Whats wrong with a lizard. Terrariums are great as well. Maybe a turtle. I heard of people hear were breeding fighting fish. They loved it.
Yeah you need a sump, protein skimmer, chiller, powerful lights, live sand and live rock and plenty of snails and crabs to be successful.
I kept goldfish several times over the years. I tried tropical fish once but they didn’t survive. Guppies I tried as well but goldfish were the ones I had the longest. Presently I don’t have any fish. But perhaps in future I may keep some again.
I’ve been into the idea of aquascaping for quite some time. Not sure if I have the perseverence/motivation to look after everything though.
I have 5 neons in my tank. Not too much work.
They are healthy.
