Ah, ok, sorry if that was a dumb question. When I’ve heard it, it was being screamed by a metal vocalist (Max Cavalera), so it was hard to tell what it sounds like.
I would talk to her and discuss the charges, agree on what she spent wrongly and treat it like a loan for her to pay back. Confront her about why she did it, and maybe you don’t have to shift your life around too much. She’s got a screw loose but maybe she’s got compulsive issues

Nothing too exciting for my day. I just got back from wal-mart.
Hey, that’s more excitement than I’ve had today lol. Not much going on here at all, still waiting on that call, though I imagine the lady I’m waiting to hear from is on lunch right now. If I don’t hear back in the next half hour I will call again. I may have forgotten to leave my name in my message, come to think of it, though I know I gave my phone number and employee ID number. Get anything good from Walmart?

lol Right on dude. Oh I got some clothes, light bulbs, and some kitty litter.
The light bulbs are what I needed the most. All the lights have burned out in my living room, so when I was sitting in my bedroom really early this morning it was very creepy to be staring into complete darkness lol.

I plan on going to a Meijer store later. It’s like a Walmart but better; we have them in my part of the Midwest (we have Walmart, too, I just prefer Meijer). Mainly I need to get kitty litter, but I may also buy a six-pack of pop and possibly some other groceries.
How is bio going?

Bio is going Ok, I am barely passing but it’s a hard subject for me. I’m kinda learning the hard way that I am just not good at biology. When it comes to the social sciences, philosophy, and theology I am awesome, but not bio.
This is a little different from stealing your stuff out of your house… Unless she is up to that trick too. I would definitely tell her she needs to pay you back and set up a contract to do so, in writing. That way you have material to take to court if it goes to small claims.
I thought about doing that but I dont trust her anymore and dont really want to try to police the credit card. And its quite a bit of money she’d have to pay back and Id have to trust her to tell me the truth about which charges were hers and which werent. Some of the charges were obvious (utility bill) and we called to check that those were in her name (so we know the credit card wasnt stolen) but how do I know which gas station charges are for her car or my car.
Id have to take the credit card away from her and give her cash all the time (how do I trust her not to steal the cash?) or not give her anything and then my kids would suffer because theyd be couped up in the house all the time.
Another wrinkle: Her car was falling apart when we hired her and she didnt have the credit to get a car so we bought her reliable transportation and let her pay us back a little each paycheck (automatically). Shes prob going to stop paying once we fire her and then we will have to repo a car we dont want.
I dont know why she would do this to her son. She had a good job with benefits and a decent car and now the child is going to suffer. She insisted on taking her son to daycare while she worked for us (so my son had no playmate very often) and she clearly couldnt afford the more than $400 a month for daycare. She also couldnt afford to go to the coffee shop and buy a latte and sandwich every morning, or she wouldnt have been charging her utilities and groceries to our credit card.
Its not like we were paying her minimum wage. Shed make a lot less money working for a daycare. I dont think shes going to be able to get another job at the wage we were paying her and now I cant give her a reccommendation and we usually do even when we fire people. I feel sorry for her boy.
Yeah, Meijer is more of an eastern Midwest (Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, etc…) thing. Yeah bio is definitely not for everyone. I love it, but I realize it is very challenging for most students.

Wow, sounds like you have been very good to this young woman, sad situation for everyone involved.
We’d have to get a garnishment against her and its not worth it for the charges I can prove (how do I prove to a judge that I didnt have access to the credit card and those arent my groceries that were charged?) Its a she said-she said situation. Not worth my time when Ive got to worry about the paperwork to repo her car (that I know she wont pay for since shes clearly bad with money).
Well thanks for letting me vent everyone Ive got to go put a half day into the office. Im behind on paperwork now and wont have a babysitter next week. Guess I will be working Saturday.
On another note its a beautiful day here in South Dakota.
