It may be due to covid. Its not serious for me, I run out of breath after covid, while a sleep. But I do wake up at such times, and keep the windows open for more air.

I have shortness of breath, but I have COPD with emphysema, and also a heart problem.

I was having big problems with shortness of breath. I couldn’t walk one block on a small upgrade without bending over and gasping for breath. Then I got on inhalers and the problem went away.

Maybe ask your pdoc if it is a med side effect for what you are taking. It also could be an allergic reaction, particularly I would think if you just started a new med. I would definitely talk to your doc about it.

I had it when I first went on aripiprazole (abilify). I can’t say for absolute sure that it was a reaction to the med. Whatever it was, it seemed to resolve itself. I definitely would not wait to see if it resolves itself though. I would get a doc involved.
