Anyone ever read the book Mindfulness in Plain English?

It’s about mindfulness and meditation.

I don’t plan on meditating without my pdoc’s approval. And I might try and find a cool therapist that will do some guided meditation with me.

But I got Mindfulness in Plain English today from the library. And it looks like a very high quality book!

Take care. :v: :open_book:

Thank you!

I’m currently reading 2 other books, one by the Dalai Lama and a book titled Another Kind of Madness.

But I plan on looking over this Mindfulness book later tonight.

I’ve read it a couple of times, it’s a good book it goes into detail about how to practice mindfulness meditation. The problem I have is that I’m unable to do the meditation because I can’t focus due to constant intrusive thoughts. But maybe you’ll have more luck with it than I had.

Aw I see. I’m sorry to hear you were unable to do the meditation.

That’s pretty rad that you read it though!

Thank you for the reply @fingolfin. :v:

I read it about 5 years ago. I thought it was a great book and very well written. I wish I could do more meditation. I find it very difficult but when I did do it I found it helpful and relaxing.

That’s awesome that you’ve read this book @Gollum.

Thank you for the positive review!

I’ve only meditated a few times in my life. But I always enjoyed it. That was before my diagnosis though.

But I am really excited to start this book!

I never really had a negative experience while trying to meditate. Only that sometimes I could not get into the grove. Other times I could and it was very good. I’ve also tried walking meditations and guided meditations on cd. When I had bad back pain they were very helpful.
