Currently im looking through hosting sites so i can create a sort of blog of newspaper articles and the like about schizophrenia and other oddities. I made a wordpress but it seems i need to pay for the domain name i want, tho im kinda stumped on how itll show up to a reader.
Ive never really done website design before either and didnt really pay attention to how they all work.
It says 20 dollars for a year, but im wondering how itll look, the url. Hmm…
Word Press is one of the more advanced builders. I have made them on easier places so here is what I know.
You pay for the domain registry and then you own it for however long and you will have to pay to renew.
The domain you bought and the builder you use are then linked. The way to do this should be a place in the builder that you put the web address and the computer faires do their thing.
In the builder your home page address should Match the web address you bought. The others need be the web address followed by forward slash and the other pages title. The ability to click from page to page has to be embedded in the body if the page for people to get to from one to the other or you need a menu bar.
There should be a feature in the builder (Word Press) to “publish” - once again this is where the internet fairies work so I’m not much help here.
If you need anything else, there may be online tutorials.
I made and have two websites. I made one back in 2011 and I made the other one sometime two years ago in 2018. One is for my music and the other is for my book.
Well, yeah, it’s what I used in college and it’s always stuck with me.
I use Visual Studio for websites and apps, and Unity for games (no, I haven’t actually coded a full game, though I purchased many assets, designed individual levels and experimented with multiplayer support)
I also use PHP for web development, and I add a bit of C# for stuff like contact forms, support etc.
CSS I’ve been using since I learned HTML, so that’s always been helpful for me.
