Since we kind of struck out foraging for these mushrooms and such,
I’m thinking of buying mushroom spawn plugs and attaching them to my trees.
Other mushrooms in the ground of course.
Has anyone done this?
I think it’d be a good idea because it could get us more familiar with the mushrooms and maybe that would give us better luck foraging.
Make sense?
I don’t know.

Check out Amazon or a Wally World for a mushroom growing kit. That may get you started on how to care for them.

Great idea!
I was already looking into that.
Found a deal on 100 spawn plugs for chicken of the woods on Amazon.
Looks like the morels are more expensive.

I do not, but I’ve also got an enthusiastic neophyte interest in mycology.
That would be pretty cool! Mushrooms have always interested me, such a weird life form.
Also nom.

Do my toenails count? If so, yes, but not intentionally.

Usually you buy pligs and put them in cut logs, never saw it on live trees.
Back to roots has easy mushroom kits. I have obe for oysters that I haven’t used yet, but did before. You can get several flushes.

Morels are very hard to grow. The kits make people think they will grow, but they often won’t. Chicken of the woods (CoW) is much easier. I had one come up on a stump in my front yard.
