I’m thinking of adding an exercise regime to my routine and I’m wondering if anyone has seen any cognitive improvements in thought or mood through exercise. Please post your experiences here! Used to be interested in nutrition and mixed martial arts but now not the fighting so much any tips on getting started or the best forums for learning about it?
I hit the gym today. Have been months since the last time. I feel kinda outgoing now
Awesome dude! I might try to do a couple push-ups later. I have a lot of health issues in just learning about, I think I’ve been suffering from iron toxicity for a long time which lead to damage to my pancreas and brain, which lead to “bronze diabetes” or at least pre-diabetes. Since my bodies going through a lot I’m trying to take it easy but I’m thinking of slowly incorporating a workout.
Yea that confidence boost that it gives is great. I feel like it motivates me to get stuff done. That being said, too much and it just makes me anxious. I think that’s why I’ve been avoiding it, maybe when I do it I over-do it, so I’m going to try a measure approach this time. Maybe 10 push ups ever hour? I have a schedule app on my phone that can set off a beep every hour so I can keep track of time.
Do you have any fitness goals? Are you interested in nutrition at all, I have an amazing free book I can recommend that gives a quick breakdown of the nutrients the human body needs and what they do
I only walk for 40 minutes a day. It’s enough for me and better than the nothing I used to do.
That’s actually perfect. To be honest I think walking is the best exercise because it’s the easiest. When the prospect of working out seems too difficult it just stops me from doing it all together, so because I’m more likely to keep at it it’s actually better in the long run health wise than doing a harder workout.
First of all I want to get some water out of my body. When I’m like 2 minutes in the sun I start to sweat like a mofo. Then I just want to become stronger and look better when naked. The abilify gained me 10 kilograms in 6 months… Damn you abilify!
Don’t worry I’m a hefalump.
Zyprexa made me the fattest guy on this forum
You deserve more respect than that man! God made people all sizes and shapes
My Exercise routine is important to me. It lifts my mood when done regularly along with a healthy diet etc. Five days a week, I do a gentle fifteen to twenty minute jog, then go for a body pump session at the gym for 45-60minutes, which is a group session with music on and led by someone.
I’m so fat I can hardly get in my car door
I practice yoga for a half hour to 40 minutes every day. It keeps me in shape and feeling good both physically and emotionally. I’m delighted with the results. I’ve been practicing yoga for the last thirteen years. I use both a free yoga app and my own made up yoga sequences.
MMA is a great exercise! My deceased son used to do that. He loved it. He also pumped iron and did cardio.
Yea I used to have hyper-hydrosis. In my opinion it’s caused by drinking too much water. What I do now is drink from dwater bottles so I can track how much I’m drinking and I try to keep it at 1-3 bottles a day. Limiting water to the amount your body needs also helps you eat less because your metabolism isn’t in overdrive, which may be one of the reasons a person feels so overheated when they have hyperhydrosis.
If you want to get water out of your body, you need to kick salt out of your body. Sipping black coffee will do that, but you don’t wanna drink it with sugar, because sugar causes the body to hold onto water cause it’s an electrolyte like salt. You’ll want to drink it slowly (maybe iced coffee in a water bottle?) so that you’ll remain relatively stable throughout the day.
Thanks for the advice, you’re the man! I definitely eat too much candy, just can’t hold off of the chocolate. That adds to my hyper-hydrosis I suppose.
That’s awesome Gina! My dad actually does yoga too. I don’t know that it’s for me but I know it’s really healthy. It’s a real workout too isn’t it Holding those poses takes a lot of strength and stability. The breathing calms the mind.
Hey God made chocolate cake too XD eating unhealthy for years caused me to have unbalanced blood sugar though, so I try to stick to brown rice (burns slow), frozen vegetables (easy to digest) and fish/chicken/beef. Put some oil and balsamic vinegar (kicks out salts too, like most bitter things) and your good to go XD
I try to eat at set times too when I can like in the hospital. When your body knows what time it’s going to get food, it adjust and is able to balance better. It’s easier for it to find homeostasis.
Im really sorry to hear about that Gina. I hope you can find comfort in the fact that your son is in the hands of a most merciful God. Although I’m sure I cannot fathom the struggles you go through on a daily basis, and I just hope that you know that God did not take your son away from you. He has returned to God but it was never Gods intention for anyone to pass. It is because of the devil and the fallen state of mankind that death crept in, causing hurt and tears. Your God loves you and hears your prayers even when they are made without words. May God bless you and your wonderful son with everlasting life.
i like doing bodyweight exercise. if u search calisthenics in the app store they have some good ones
Thanks for the info man. Do you know any good guided workout apps?
