Anyone else have a degree in Humanities?

I kinda got roped into majoring in Humanities. I had taken a bunch of classes for years without really declaring a major. Then I saw a counselor and we went over my transcript and she told me that because of the classes I had already taken that I should either go for my Associates of Science or my Associate of Arts Degree but I was closer to a humanities degree. So I chose Humanities as my major, not really knowing its reputation.

Most people think you are less likely to get a job with Humanities than other degrees and that most employers are not looking for someone with a Humanities degree. It’s all moot for me anyways since I got my AA degree last year but I’m not looking to change careers this late in the game. But I was wrong about the degree, it has some very positive things and because of its “soft skills” it is a degree that most employers think is valuable. So if anyone else has a degree in Humanities I think you’ll find these interesting:

I kinda regretted majoring in the social sciences it’s seen
as a “soft science”

I did a billion things, but I started in social sciences. I ended up shifting towards the slightly harder fields… environmental and then health care. I mostly worked in the latter. Now I sell coffee. :relieved:
