Anyone any good at convincing their brain that feelings of anxiety can just be ignored?

Not all anxiety of course. I mean anxiety that doesn’t seem as a result of a real stimuli.

I ask this because 30 minutes ago I came over incredibly anxious for absolutely no reason. I don’t have as required meds.

What I did was firstly brew a cup of weak tea then tell myself ‘yes you are anxious’ but ‘no you don’t have to be’

After a few minutes of convincing myself this feeling of anxiety doesn’t have to be entertained I felt better.

Breathing exercises helped me too

Absolutely, it is possible to control your thoughts.
When I recognize I have intrusive thoughts I try to stop them with a variety of methods and it works.
