Anybody suffer fatigue on abilify?

I’ve been feeling really fatigued lately. I don’t think it’s the disease itself, but it’s just another side effect of abilify that I’ve succumbed to. I’m overdue for a blood test, so maybe that will shed some light on it. But I was just wondering if anybody else has this issue on abilify. I’m just on 10mg.

Hey @everhopeful
I was on Abilify for over 12years or more.

I suffered a lot of side effects from taking Abilify, being tired or fatigued were never something that I experienced on Abilify.

I was always wired or on my toes while taking this med.

If you are feeling fatigued and this is a new symptom for you then I would bring it up with your family doctor - GP.

It might not be the Abilify.

I was fine on 10mg abilify but when we went to 15mg or more, it made extremely lethargic, i couldnt even get out of the bed. So we had to stop it eventually

Hopefully the blood test will put my mind at rest. I turn into a hypochondriac at times like this.

Have you been eating more carbs than usual?

Sometimes it’s our diet.

I get real tired after eating lots of carbs/comfort foods.

This is common with those of us suffering with higher than normal blood sugar levels.

I just switched to the injection, tired for the first day or two, but good after, it is a more balanced distribution

Like I told you earlier, when I first go on abilify I get tired. When I re-started it, it made me sleep for 14 hours. Then 13. THen 12. Then 11. Now I take it in the morning again. But you;ve been on it a while so that surely isn’t the case.

Well, I took a vitamin D tablet earlier and feel a bit better, so maybe it’s just a coincidence or maybe I’ve developed S.A.D.

I’ll start taking it daily and see.

Not eating more carbs than usual, but do eat a lot of them.

I’ll be getting a blood test on Friday anyway. Thanks @Vertigo.

Yeah, I’ve been taking it at the same time every day for well over 18 months. Like I said above, I’m feeling a bit better now after taking vitamin D. So maybe it’s seasonal.

I feel extremely fatigued/lethargic on Abilify.
I’ve taken it for a few years, and at first, it made me really drowzy. Then that effect tapered off, and about a year ago, I started getting really tired all the time again.
I keep having my blood tested, but they’re not finding any deficits, nor any metabolism issues or otherwise, so I’m almost sure it’s the Abilify.
I’ve booked an appointment with a psychiatrist to try and see if there’s any other meds I can take, as I was rightfully strongly advised against stopping the treatment without a replacement.

I’m glad to see your fatigue is going away now

Abilify made me so tired that i couldnt leave the bed, so it very well may be the abilify.

Well, so far so good. I don’t know if it’s a coincidence that I started to feel better once I started taking vitamin D or not. But I’m going to continue taking it now. I just take the recommended daily allowance of 600IU.

I take 2000IU of vitamin D, a bit over the top but it seems to help me
